Introduction
Watermelon tourmaline's chemical composition belongs to the lithium-containing elbaite tourmaline mineral group (Na(Li,Al)₃Al₆(BO₃)₃Si₆O₁₈(OH)₄). In mineralogy, it is classified as lithium tourmaline. Due to the complex composition of lithium, aluminum, silicon, and boron in its structure, it exhibits unique pleochroism under light, also known as "watermelon tourmaline."

In 18th-century Europe, it was collected by nobles and seen as a gem symbolizing love and balance. Ancient Indian texts mention it as promoting mental clarity, considered a "stone that brings truth and insight." In Native American cultures, it was regarded as a sacred ore that harmonized spiritual energy, fostering love and understanding.
