Introduction
The main component of red jasper is silicon dioxide (SiO₂). The red color comes from iron impurities and iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) dispersed within the stone, and it is also called "carnelian" or "red chalcedony."

Ancient Egyptians used it as seals and amulets; the ancient Greeks and Romans used it for carving seals, ornaments, and talismans; and pendants and objects made of this stone can be seen in archaeological finds from Central and East Asia, indicating its long-standing use as a protective and decorative material.
