Introduction
Malachite, with the chemical composition of copper carbonate hydroxide (Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂), is a green copper ore named for its beautiful ringed texture, resembling the eyespots on peacock feathers, and is also known as "peacock eye stone."

During the pharaonic era of ancient Egypt, malachite was believed to ward off evil and protect against harm, and was often carved into amulets or eye ornaments. Roman and Chinese historical records also mention it as a symbol of protection, wisdom, and wealth, while in Middle Eastern civilizations, it was used to carve amulets, jewelry, and religious artifacts.
