Introduction
Peridot's chemical composition is mainly (Mg,Fe)₂SiO₄. It is a gemstone-grade olive-green silicate mineral. Varieties with higher magnesium content typically appear bright yellow-green, while an increase in iron content darkens the color, also known as "the stone of the sun."

As early as 1500 BC, Egypt believed peridot possessed mystical protective powers and used it to decorate royal jewelry. In medieval Europe, it was thought to ward off evil spirits and was often used as an amulet, as well as to adorn church altars to symbolize light and hope. Ancient Greek and Roman texts record that it could bring peace, happiness, and wealth, while also enhancing courage and self-confidence.
