Introduction
The main chemical component of southern red agate is silicon dioxide (SiO₂), with trace amounts of iron and manganese elements, which give it different shades of red, orange, and pink. It is also known as "southern red jade."

Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been used in jewelry and collectibles. According to historical records, red agate was considered a stone of good fortune, used for protection, wealth, and symbolizing happiness and fulfillment. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the craftsmanship of red agate carving reached a high level, and it was often used for seals, bracelets, and ornaments.
