Introduction
Golden sunstone's main chemical composition is a mixture of NaAlSi₃O₈ to CaAl₂Si₂O₈, a special variety of feldspar, known for the shimmering "aventurescence" produced by included metallic flakes, also called "sunstone" or "golden sunstone."

In records from medieval Iceland and other places, Nordic navigators used its polarization or reflectivity to identify the sun's position, and it was regarded as a protective stone for navigation. In ancient Greece, the sunstone was revered as a symbol of the sun god Helios, symbolizing glory and victory.
