Introduction
The chemical composition of agate is silicon dioxide (SiO₂). Its characteristic feature is its layered, banded texture, with various colors ranging from white, gray, brown, to red, resembling intertwined ribbons. It is also known as "banded agate" or "ribbon agate."

In ancient Greece and Rome, it was regarded as a protective and warding-off gem, often used for signet rings, amulets, and decorative objects. Ancient Chinese literature considered it a symbol of auspiciousness and peace.
