Introduction
Epidote's chemical formula is Ca₂(Al,Fe)₃(SiO₄)₃(OH). It is named for its crystal appearance, which resembles the striped structure of a curtain, and is also known as "pistacite" or "pistacite crystal."

Named by French mineralogists in the 18th century, it is often recorded in early European literature as an important mineral for collection and research. In addition to being a mineral specimen, it is also often carved into ornaments, showcasing its natural green luster.
