Introduction
Lapis lazuli's chemical composition is (Na,Ca)₈(AlSiO₄)₆(S,SO₄,Cl)₁–₂, with lazurite as its primary component, and it also contains minerals such as calcite, pyrite, and sodalite. It is also known as "lapis", "lazurite", or "ultramarine gemstone".
Since ancient times, it has been regarded as a symbol of nobility and wisdom. Ancient Egyptians ground it into powder for pharaohs' ornaments and tomb painting pigment, calling it the "Stone of the Gods." In Mesopotamia and Ancient Greece, it was also considered a sacred stone leading to the divine realm, symbolizing truth and spiritual awakening.
